Laapataa Ladies, which made waves in theaters upon its release in March 2024, is set to make its mark in Japan.
The film, which delighted audiences for over 100 days before continuing to garner praise on OTT platforms, will debut in Japan on October 4, 2024.

Director Kiran Rao expressed her excitement about the international release, saying, “I’m thrilled that Laapataa Ladies is making its way to Japan. As someone who deeply admires Japanese cinema, this feels like a full-circle moment.
I have always been fascinated by Japanese culture, and I hope the film’s emotional depth will resonate with Japanese viewers just as it did with our own audience.”
