Aamir Khan and Suriya to team up for Ghajini 2? Here is what we know

Suriya and Aamir Khan are set to reunite for Ghajini 2.

Actors Suriya and Aamir Khan are excited about the potential for "Ghajini 2," but they prefer to steer clear of labeling it as a remake, which is why they are considering the possibility of shooting it simultaneously.

According to reports, Aamir Khan has been engaged in talks with producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena regarding a sequel to the successful 2008 film Ghajini. The producers have shared a concept with Aamir, who has asked them to develop a storyboard before proceeding further with the project.

Additionally, Allu Aravind is set to produce "Ghajini 2" in Tamil, with Suriya confirmed to take on the lead role. The actor has openly discussed this exciting development in a recent interview.

Speaking about Ghajini 2, Suriya said, “Ghajini 2 was actually, surprising that you asked me now. After a long time, Allu Aravind came up with that idea (for sequel) and said if that would be possible. I said definitely sir, we can think of it. Yes, the talk has started, the things are in process. Ghajini 2 might happen.”

During the interview, Suriya also revealed that the sequel will be a bilingual film in Tamil and Hindi, with A.R. Murugadoss intending to work on both versions simultaneously. Suriya is set to star in the Tamil version, while Aamir Khan will lead the cast in the Hindi adaptation.

While promoting his upcoming film Kanguva, Suriya expressed his gratitude to Aamir Khan for playing a significant role in helping him gain pan-India recognition. He said, "It was Aamir Sir coming and talking in the media about me and telling me that this is the person who did the original version of Ghajini. It all started there. he introduced me to the entire fraternity and media all over the country. Sincere thanks to him for topping my name on the map."

Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the original Ghajini was released in 2005 and featured Suriya, Asin, and Nayanthara in leading roles. The film garnered immense success, becoming a significant hit. In 2008, it was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan and Asin among the cast, and this version also enjoyed remarkable box office success.
