With Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh is ready to make a spectacular cinematic return, and anticipation for the movie is already high before it opens in theaters this weekend.
Advance bookings, which opened a week prior to its release, have been brisk, signalling that audiences are eager to catch the actor back in action on the big screen.
According to a trading website, the Aditya Dhar directorial quietly began its advance booking phase in select theatre chains across India’s major metropolitan cities before expanding to a wider rollout across domestic theatres on Sunday evening.
Dhurandhar is doing well at the box office despite this rather low-key strategy, and early signs point to a healthy appetite for the action thriller.
According to reports, the movie has been allocated about 2,241 shows throughout India for its opening day in terms of advance booking performance.
Dhurandhar had sold 8,654 tickets as of Monday morning, resulting in advance sales collections of about Rs 43.36 lakh.
The day-one advance total currently stands at about Rs 1.97 crore when premium pricing and reserved seats are taken into account. This is a promising start for the highly anticipated release.
When the response is broken down by state, Maharashtra contributes the most to the national total, with Rs 48.34 lakh from 489 shows.
Delhi NCR comes in second with Rs 47.22 lakh from 295 shows.
Gujarat has contributed Rs 14.98 lakh from 291 shows, Karnataka Rs 13.29 lakh from 165 shows, and Punjab Rs 9.45 lakh from 132 shows, rounding off the top five markets.
Set to hit screens on 5 December, Dhurandhar is one of Bollywood’s lengthier offerings this year, clocking in at an ambitious 3 hours and 32 minutes.
