PVR INOX Pictures is all set to bring WARFARE to Indian theatres on April 11. Produced by A24, this gripping war film is co-written and directed by Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza and filmmaker Alex Garland, known for Civil War and 28 Days Later. Warfaretakes audiences deep into a dangerous mission, showing the brutal truth of war, teamwork, and survival.
The story follows an elite Navy SEAL team sent on a secret surveillance mission in hostile territory. Things go wrong, and the mission quickly turns into a fight for survival. Based on real stories and memories from war veterans, the film shows war in its rawest form—without filters or flashy drama.
Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) plays Sam, a role inspired by real-life SEAL Joe Hildebrand, who was seriously injured during an evacuation. Quinn says the film is not about big speeches or backstories—it throws you right into the lives of the soldiers as they face unexpected danger together. The team feels like one unit, not just separate people, and their strong bond is what keeps them going.
The film also stars Charles Melton (Riverdale) as Jake Wayne, Cosmo Jarvis (Shōgun) as Elliott Miller, Will Poulter (Midsommar) as Captain Eric, and Evan Holtzman (Hit Man) as sniper Brock. The rest of the team includes Finn Bennett, Noah Centineo, Henrique Zaga, Taylor John Smith, Kit Connor, Michael Gandolfini, and Adain Bradley.
To make the film feel real, the cast went through intense training, just like real soldiers. They even gave each other nicknames, a tradition in military teams—like “Top”, “Daddy”, “Lamb Bone”, “Baby Face”, and “Booger Boo”.
Warfare is not just a war movie. It’s an emotional and realistic journey into the heart of combat. With powerful performances and intense action, it promises to leave a lasting impact. Watch this unforgettable film in cinemas from April 11.
