In a recent interview, Massey shared his thoughts on the National Award buzz, his journey, and the camaraderie he shares with fellow actors who have delivered notable performances over the past year.

Reflecting on the buzz surrounding his potential National Award win, Massey remains humble and grounded. "To be considered for the award in an annual year where many performances stood out and were respected, and people really thought of these performances as good performances... I think I’m already in a good club so I’m happy about that," shares Massey, highlighting his modest perspective despite the widespread acclaim for his role as IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in "12th Fail."

Massey’s performance has been praised for its authenticity and depth, a testament to his commitment to his craft. "As much as people are talking about me winning the National Award, there were some incredible performances last year. What Vicky (Kaushal) did in 'Sam Bahadur' was phenomenal," Massey remarks, acknowledging the stellar performances by his peers.

He continues to laud the efforts of other actors, such as Fahadh Faasil in "Aavesham" and Prithviraj in "Goat Life," emphasizing that it has been a great year for many artists. "The time and amount of hard work they put in for their films were phenomenal, and I know because (director) Meghna Gulzar is also a very dear friend," he adds, showcasing his appreciation for the industry's collective talent.

Despite the growing anticipation and praise, Massey remains cautious about getting carried away. "Ahead of the 70th National Film Awards’ announcement next month, we ask Massey how his current state of mind is. 'Let’s see. Abhi main kya hi bol sakta hoon. I don’t want to jinx it by talking about it too much,' he quips." This statement reflects his grounded nature and the pragmatic approach he takes towards his career and accolades.

Massey’s modesty is evident as he shares how humbled he feels by the recognition and encouragement coming his way. "Humbled by all the praise and encouragement coming his way, Massey states that just being considered worthy of a National Award makes him feel proud of his craft." This sentiment highlights his deep appreciation for the acknowledgment of his hard work and dedication.

Looking ahead, Massey is set to star in "The Sabarmati Report," a film that promises to be another significant project in his illustrious career.
