Lok Sabha elections: Gautam Adani votes from Ahmedabad, says 'cast your vote for shaping future of India'

During a media interaction after casting his vote, the billionaire said the country is already growing and he hopes the growth continues in the next five years.

Voting provides a powerful voice in India’s democracy and every citizen should exercise this right and privilege, said Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani on May 7 after casting his vote from Ahmedabad.

“Proud to have voted with my family today. Voting is a right, a privilege and a responsibility we all share as citizens of this great nation. Every vote is a powerful voice in our democracy. Cast your vote for shaping the future of India. Jai Hind,” Adani said in a post on X platform (formerly Twitter). He also posted pictures of him and his wife Priti along with their elder son Karan and daughter-in-law Paridhi.

The polling for the third phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections began on May 7. Around 1,351 candidates will battle it out for 93 Lok Sabha seats in 11 states and Union Territories, according to the Election Commission of India.

The third phase will see contest in Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5 seats), Chhattisgarh (7 seats), Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (2 seats), Goa (2 seats), Gujarat (25 seats), Karnataka (14 seats), Madhya Pradesh (9 seats), Maharashtra (11 seats), Uttar Pradesh (10 seats), and West Bengal (4 seats).

The senior leaders who are in the fray are Union ministers Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Parshottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad) and SP Singh Baghel (Agra).
