The voter turnout in this Lok Sabha constituency in 2024 has been lower at 57.85 percent as compared to 58.97 percent in 2019. The voter turnout in North West Delhi in 2014 was 61.80 percent in 2014 and 47.69 percent in 2009 Lok Sabha elections. In absolute numbers, the voter turnout was marginally higher in 2024 at 14,85,378 voters as compared to 14,02,986 voters in 2019. The number of registered voters in the constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections stands at 25,67,423.
In 2019, BJP won the North West Delhi Lok Sabha seat with its candidate Hans Raj Hans defeating AAP candidate Gugan Singh Ranga and Congress’s Rajesh Lilothia.
North West Delhi constituency is one of the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The Lok Sabha constituency has ten Assembly segments under it – Narela, Badli, Rithala, Bawana, Mundka, Kirari, Sultanpur Majra, Nangloi Jat, Mangol Puri and Rohini.
Hans Raj Hans had a landslide victory with 60.48 percent votes in 2019 while Ranga from AAP and Lilothia from Congress got 21.01 percent and 16.88 percent votes respectively.
In 2014, Udit Raj, who was then in BJP, defeated Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rakhi Birla and Congress’ Krishna Tirath with 46.44 percent votes in the same constituency of North West Delhi. While AAP got 38.56 percent votes, Congress received 11.61 percent votes in 2014. In 2009, Congress’ Krishna Tirath won from the constituency with 56.84 percent votes.
