Kuashik had won 35.19 percent votes in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections while Jagbir Singh Malik of Congress got 27.35 percent votes. In the 2024 elections, Kaushik was denied ticket amid controversy over a leaked video.

Haryana has a total of 10 constituencies including Ambala, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Hisar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Sirsa and Sonipat. Including Sonipat, BJP won all the 10 seats in Haryana in the 2019 polls.
