The core PCE inflation gauge for the US economy fell to 2.6% in May 2024, the lowest since March 2021, down from 2.8% in April and matching market forecasts. Still, it remains above the Federal Reserve's target of 2%. On a monthly basis, core PCE prices rose by 0.1% in May, down from 0.3% in April, in line with market estimates.
