A dispute over a dog’s name turned violent on Thursday night, leading to a police complaint in Indore Madhya Pradesh. The controversy began when a man, Bhupendra Singh, allegedly named his dog “Sharma” in a way that offended his neighbours, Virendra Sharma and his wife, Kiran, India Today reported.
According to the couple, Singh referred to the dog as “Sharma ji” and made inappropriate comments in front of friends, which they found insulting.
When the couple raised their objection, the situation quickly escalated into a confrontation. Virendra Sharma alleged that Singh, along with two associates, verbally abused and physically assaulted him and his wife, causing injuries.
Shocked and hurt by the incident, the couple approached the Rajendra Nagar police station and filed an official complaint against Singh and the two men involved.
Police confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Officers are questioning all parties involved to understand the sequence of events and the exact circumstances of the dispute.
