Vida VX2 Evooter electric scooter launched at Rs 99,490. BaaS model starts at Rs 59,490

The Vida VX2 Evooter gets a comprehensive five-year or 50,000 km warranty.

The country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, today launched the Vida VX2 Evooter electric scooter at a starting price of Rs 99,490 (ex-showroom). Under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, it can be had for merely Rs 59,490 with the subscription plans beginning from Rs 0.96 per kilometre.

The Vida VX2 Evooter is available in two variants -- VX2 Go and VX2 Plus. The following are their prices (ex-showroom).

VX2 Go - Rs 59,490 (with BaaS)

VX2 Plus - Rs 64,990 (with BaaS)

VX2 Go - Rs 99,490 (without BaaS)

VX2 Plus - Rs 1,09,990 (without BaaS)

Under the BaaS model, buyers do not have to pay the price of the battery upfront. They have to pay a fixed battery cost depending on the subscription plans and usage.

The Vida VX2 Evooter has removable batteries, one in the case of the VX2 Go variant and two for the VX2 Plus variant. The claimed range (IDC) for the VX2 Go with a 2.2 kWh battery is up to 92 kilometres, while the VX2 Plus with 3.4 kWh batteries is good for 142 kilometres.

The batteries power a 6 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor. The 0-100% charging time is claimed to be 3 hours and 53 minutes for the VX2 Go variant, and 5 hours and 39 minutes for the VX2 Plus variant. The electric scooter supports fast charging also, with the 0-80% charge time for both variants claimed to be 1 hour and 2 minutes.

With the BaaS package, Vida VX2 Evooter buyers will get additional benefits like complimentary replacement of batteries if the performance falls below 70% and access to the company's nationwide fast-charging network during the subscription period. Vida's network comprises of more than 3,600 fast-charging stations and over 500 service points across 100+ cities.

The Vida VX2 Evooter carries over the silhouette from other Vida models and is available in seven colour options -- Nexus Blue, Metallic Grey, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black and Pearl Red. Among the noteworthy features are LED lighting, a 4.3-inch TFT instrument panel with turn-by-turn navigation, alloy wheels and front disc brake. It is also claimed to be the only electric scooter in its class to offer remote immobilisation and cloud connectivity. Also, smartphone integration offers real-time ride statistics, telemetry and firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates.

A comprehensive five-year or 50,000 km warranty is being offered on the Vida VX2 Evooter, which will rival the likes of the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 and Ather Rizta.
