The coming week (December 15 - December 21) will be a busy one for the passenger vehicle (PV) segment. While Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) will officially open bookings for the new Sierra, JSW MG Motor India will unveil the 2026 Hector and Nissan Motor India will showcase its new sub-4 metre MPV.

The official bookings for the Sierra will open on December 16. However, we earlier reported that select Tata dealerships have already begun taking unofficial pre-bookings for Rs 21,000. Deliveries to customers will start on January 15.
The Sierra will be offered with three engine options -- a 1.5-litre Hyperion T-GDi petrol (160PS, 255Nm) with a 6-speed automatic; a 1.5-litre Revotron NA petrol (106PS, 145Nm) with manual and DCA gearboxes; and a 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel (118PS, 260/280Nm) with manual and automatic choices. The SUV will be available in seven trims, with prices for the top two variants pending. It starts at Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata recently shared results from controlled tests held at NATRAX Indore, where the Sierra (Hyperion T-GDi petrol AT variant) achieved a mileage of 29.9kmpl during a certified 12-hour run on November 30 and a top speed of 222kmph on the high-speed circuit. Both figures were recorded under monitored conditions with trained drivers. However, customer vehicles will be electronically limited to 190kmph.

MG will reveal the 2026 Hector on December 15, confirming a new Celadon Blue colour in its latest teaser. The updated Hector arrives at a time when the SUV has been under pressure, recording just 278 units in November 2025.
For 2026, MG has focussed on exterior redesign. Teasers show a revised grille, new LED lighting and a more assertive front profile. The SUV is also expected to move to larger 19-inch alloy wheels. Changes inside the cabin are likely to be incremental, with refreshed software, a revised digital cluster and updated materials. The existing 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines will continue unchanged. Prices are expected to see a marginal upward revision over the current Rs 14 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh ex-showroom bracket.

Nissan will unveil its new small MPV on December 18. The model shares its platform with the Renault Triber but will have a distinct design and interior. The MPV is one of three new products Nissan will launch in India by 2027, alongside the Tekton mid-size SUV and a larger five-seater SUV. The MPV is expected go on sale in February 2026.
The model is expected to use the Triber's 1.0-litre petrol engine with manual and AMT options. Expected features include LED lighting, a touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster and six airbags as standard. Prices are likely to be in the Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh range (ex-showroom).
