The Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the largest-selling cars in India. It has always been liked by masses for its value-for-money character. In case you are looking to buy one for yourself right now, there is a piece of good news. The popular hatchback has discounts to the tune of Rs 1.10 lakh in July.
The Rs 1.10 lakh discounts are on the standard Swift and not the Blitz Edition. The discounts have the following components.
Consumer discount - Rs 35,000 for AMT/Rs 30,000 for all other variants, including CNG
Exchange bonus - Rs 15,000
Upgrade bonus - Rs 50,000
Institutional sales offer - Rs 10,000
The Swift arrived in India in May 2005. Its popularity can be gauged from the fact that it has sold over 30 lakh units in the domestic market alone. It contributes more than 10% to Maruti's sales.
Maruti sold over 1.79 lakh units of the Swift in FY25. In FY26 year-to-date, the sales have been handsome, as usual, at 42,002 units.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
Priced between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the Swift is currently in its fourth generation in India.
The hatchback employs Suzuki's new Z-Series, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 81.58 PS of maximum power and 111.7 Nm of peak twisting force. The transmission options include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. There is also a CNG option (69.75 PS and 101.8 Nm) mated to a 5-speed MT.
The Swift's mileage is claimed to be the best in its segment at 24.80 kmpl for the petrol MT, 25.75 kmpl for the petrol AMT and 32.85 kmpkg for the CNG MT.
If we talk about features, the Swift gets LED projector headlamps with boomerang LED DRLs, LED taillamps and 15-inch alloy wheels. The cabin offers bells and whistles like a Smartplay Pro+ 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel, wireless charger and Arkamys sound system. With the Suzuki Connect technology, you are offered more than 40 connected car features.
Maruti has also tried to make the fourth-generation Swift the safest avatar of the hatchback, loading it with safety features like six airbags (standard), electronic stability program, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, hill hold control, reverse parking sensors, 3-point seat belts, and seat belt reminder.
