JSW MG Motor India has launched the 2026 Hector in the country. The carmaker has rolled out a set of targeted updates with the new model. The changes focus on exterior design, cabin treatment, technology and ownership-related offerings.
The most visible update is at the front. The Hector now features the new Aura Hex grille. It uses a hexagonal pattern and gives the SUV a butch and more upright look than before. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned. Referred to as Aura Sculpt bumpers, they add a more muscular stance when viewed from both ends.

The alloy wheels are new as well. The Hector now gets Aura Bolt alloy wheels with a more angular and pronounced design. MG has also expanded the colour palette. Two new exterior shades -- Celadon Blue and Pearl White -- have been added.
Changes continue inside the cabin. Interior colour themes now vary by seating configuration. The five-seater version adopts a dual-tone Ice Grey theme with a black-and-grey finish. The six-seater and seven-seater variants receive a dual-tone Urban Tan interior.

The dashboard and interior surfaces also see updates. New Hydra Gloss finish accents with hydrophobic black-blue inserts have been introduced across the cabin. Depending on the variant, the Hector continues to offer features such as ventilated front seats, a six-way power-adjustable driver seat, telescopic and tilt-adjustable steering, and a leather pack covering the dashboard, doors and centre console.
Technology updates form a key part of the refresh. The Hector retains the 14-inch portrait touchscreen but now benefits from Smart Boost technology. This improves processing speeds and overall system responsiveness. MG has also added a first-in-segment feature called i-Swipe touch gesture control. It allows two-finger and three-finger swipe inputs for functions such as air-conditioning, music and navigation.

Additional tech features include a digital Bluetooth key with key-sharing capability, predictive maintenance alerts and remote AC control. The SUV also gets a full digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch embedded LCD screen.
On the safety and convenience front, the Hector now offers a 360-degree HD camera with wheel view. This provides tyre-level visibility to assist during parking and low-speed manoeuvres. Standard safety features include ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, hill hold control and brake assist.

There are no mechanical changes. The Hector continues with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. It produces 143PS and 250Nm and is offered with manual and CVT gearbox options. Although the diesel powertrain has not been revealed yet, we expect the 170PS/350Nm 2.0-litre diesel unit with a 6-speed manual, from the outgoing model, to continue.
MG has also updated the ownership proposition. Buyers can opt for 100% on-road price funding, along with financing support for accessories. The SUV is covered under the MG Shield programme, which includes a 3+3+3 package. This comprises a three-year unlimited kilometre warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three labour-free periodic services.
