Mahindra XUV 7XO pre-bookings to open on December 15, launch on January 5

The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will be called the Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Mahindra & Mahindra will soon introduce the Mahindra XUV 7XO in India. The company has confirmed two key dates for the new SUV, which is essentially the Mahindra XUV700 facelift.

While pre-bookings for the Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift will start on December 15, the Mahindra XUV700 facelift launch date is set for January 5.

Mahindra shared these timelines on its social media handles. It also revealed that the updated XUV700 will now be called the XUV 7XO. The SUV first went on sale on August 14, 2021. Since then, it has crossed sales of 3,00,000 units. The current Mahindra XUV700 price range is Rs 13,65,800 to Rs 25,14,000 (ex-showroom).

The SUV is offered with two engines. One is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. It makes 197hp and 380Nm, and comes either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The second is a 2.2-litre diesel engine. It is sold in two output levels. The lower tune makes 153hp and 360Nm and comes with a 6-speed manual. The higher tune makes 182hp. Torque is rated at 420Nm with the manual and 450Nm with the automatic.

These engines are likely to continue on the Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift. Both units have been strong points for the SUV. Diesel variants may continue to drive most of the demand. Mahindra is also expected to keep the AWD option.

Mahindra recently launched the XEV 9S electric SUV. Its design hints at what the Mahindra XUV700 facelift could adopt. The XUV 7XO may get a new front look. Expect a more upright nose. A full-width LED DRL, new LED headlamps and a fresh grille design are also likely. The rear may get new taillamps. Alloy wheels should also get a new pattern.

The cabin changes may be more significant. A triple-screen layout is expected. A Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos may be offered. The climate control panel could get a new layout. The Mahindra XUV700 already has a long feature list. The Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift may add Level 2+ ADAS on top of that.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO facelift price could fall between Rs 14,00,000 and Rs 26,00,000 (ex-showroom). The model will rival the Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus.
