V50

Vivo has officially teased the upcoming V50 series, highlighting its camera capabilities and a new Wedding mode. While the company has not disclosed the launch date, leaks suggest the smartphone will debut in February 2025. The V50 is expected to bring minor upgrades over its predecessor, the Vivo V40, which launched just five months ago.

Camera features and Wedding mode update

The teaser image shared by Vivo emphasizes portrait photography, suggesting improvements in the Zeiss-powered camera system. Vivo has also confirmed an updated Wedding mode, likely designed to enhance portrait shots in traditional Indian wedding settings. The company has focused on delivering professional-quality imaging, aligning with its marketing tagline, “Capture your forever.”

Leaked India pricing

Vivo V50 will reportedly launch in India with a starting price of Rs 37,999, positioning it under the Rs 40,000 segment. This marks a possible Rs 3,000 increase from the Vivo V40’s launch price of Rs 34,999. However, official pricing remains unconfirmed.

Rumoured specifications

Leaks suggest that the Vivo V50 will retain most of the core specifications of the V40, including:
• Processor: Snapdragon 7 Gen 3
• Rear cameras: Dual 50MP sensors
• Front camera: 50MP selfie shooter
• Design: Expected to remain similar to the V40 series

The smartphone is likely to offer improved camera software and AI enhancements but may not feature significant hardware upgrades.

Expected launch

The Vivo V50 series is rumoured to launch in February 2025. With a price increase and minor hardware refinements, Vivo appears to target users looking for premium camera capabilities in the mid-premium segment. More official details are expected in the coming weeks.
