Back in February, the Ministry of Railways officially launched the beta version of its new all-in-one railway services app, SwaRail, on Android. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the app is out of beta now and is finally available to download via the Google Play Store.
How to download the SwaRail appOpen Google Play Store on your Android smartphone
Search for SwaRail app using the search bar
Now, tap on Install button
Once downloaded, login using IRCTC credentials or create a new account.
Features offeredSwaRail consolidates several railway-related services that were earlier available through separate apps. These include:
• Train ticket bookings for both reserved and unreserved categories
• Platform ticket booking, enabling easy access to station premises
• Parcel and freight enquiries, for commercial and logistics users
• Live train status and PNR tracking, offering real-time updates
• Food ordering services, allowing passengers to order meals on trains
• Rail Madad, an integrated platform for registering complaints and tracking grievance redressal
A key feature of the SwaRail app is its simplified login system. Users can sign in using existing credentials from either the UTS app or the RailConnect app. New users also have the option to create a fresh account directly on the app.
To ensure secure access, the app includes multiple login methods such as m-PIN and biometric authentication. Additionally, guest users can use certain services by verifying their mobile number through an OTP-based login.
This integration is intended to simplify the user experience and reduce the need for multiple logins or apps for different services.
