Samsung has introduced the Galaxy M36 5G in India, expanding its mid-range M-series portfolio. The new device brings camera and software upgrades, including 4K video recording on both front and rear cameras, and Samsung’s Galaxy AI tools. However, the return of a waterdrop notch could divide user opinion.

The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G is priced at Rs 22,999 (MRP) but will be available at a special launch price of Rs 16,499 with bank offers. It will be available in three colour options: Orange Haze, Serene Green, and Velvet Black. The frame is plastic while the back features a matte glass-like finish.

The phone will go on sale starting July 12 via Amazon India, Samsung’s online store, and select retail outlets across the country.

The Galaxy M36 5G sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Notably, Samsung has opted for a waterdrop notch instead of the punch-hole cutout seen in its predecessor, the M35 5G.

Camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. The 13-megapixel front camera and the rear setup both support 4K video recording—an uncommon feature in this price bracket. An Auto Night Mode helps enhance low-light video quality.

The device is powered by the Exynos 1380 chipset and includes a vapour cooling chamber. It runs Android 15 with One UI 7 and is backed by Samsung’s long-term software commitment: 6 years of OS and security updates.

The M36 5G also comes equipped with Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search, Gemini Live integration, and AI Select for contextual assistance.

The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging, though a charger is not included in the box.
