Perplexity is making WhatsApp even smarter by turning daily tasks like news summaries into audio podcasts. The AI-powered chatbot now lets users schedule regular updates — and you can choose to receive them as text or as audio that plays like a podcast right inside WhatsApp.
Here’s how it works: You can message Perplexity on WhatsApp and ask for updates like, “Send me a summary of top tech news every morning at 8 AM.” Once set, Perplexity will automatically send that information to your chat every day at that time.
The coolest part? You don’t have to read it if you don’t want to — the AI can now convert your summaries into spoken audio. It’s perfect for listening while driving, cooking, or working out.
Setting it up is simple. Just save +1 (833) 436-3285 in your contacts, start a chat, and send a message like “Send me a daily news summary at 7 AM as an audio podcast.” You can also change or delete tasks anytime by texting commands like “delete task” or “change reminder to 10am.”
You don’t need to download any extra apps everything happens right inside WhatsApp. However, the scheduling feature is only available for Pro or Enterprise subscribers, while basic Q&A and summaries remain free. Also, this only works in private chats, not group chats at least for now.
With this update, Perplexity is basically turning WhatsApp into your personal AI assistant that can read the news to you, help with reminders, and much more — all on your schedule.
