Oppo and Google team up to bring smarter AI to upcoming Reno14 series

Oppo says it wants to bring these smart features to as many people as possible. At Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the company shared its goal of bringing generative AI tools to around 100 million users by the end of 2025.

Oppo and Google are joining hands once again to make smartphones smarter and more helpful. The two companies have deepened their partnership, and as a result, Oppo’s upcoming Reno14 series will come with new AI features powered by Google’s Gemini.

This means that users of the Reno14 phones will be able to do more with simple voice commands. You’ll be able to ask Gemini to take action across different Oppo apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock without having to switch between them. For example, if you’re watching a long recipe video on YouTube, you can ask Gemini to pick out the key steps and save them in Oppo Notes. Or if you book a flight, you can simply say, “Add this to my Oppo Calendar,” and it will do the rest.

Gemini will be activated by pressing and holding the side button on the phone. From there, it can pull information and help you with tasks, like summarizing documents or setting reminders, just by understanding what you ask in natural language.

This closer partnership follows Oppo’s recent announcement that its Find X8 flagship phone now supports Android 16 Beta 3, showing how closely the company is working with Google to stay ahead in software development.

Oppo says it wants to bring these smart features to as many people as possible. At Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the company shared its goal of bringing generative AI tools to around 100 million users by the end of 2025.

Kai Tang, President of Oppo’s Software Engineering, said that Oppo is focused on using AI to truly help users in meaningful ways. He added that working with Google helps Oppo improve how people interact with their phones.

With the Reno14 series, Oppo is aiming to make daily tasks quicker and easier. By letting Gemini connect to key apps, Oppo hopes your phone will become more like a helpful assistant that saves you time and keeps things simple.
