Minecraft recently got The Tricky Trials Update. Both Minecraft Bedrock Edition and Minecraft Java Edition have got this update. The Tricky Trials Update brims with challenges like new hostile mobs, a new structure, decorative blocks, weapons, new armour trims and even new paintings.

You can partake in Minecraft's Tricky Trials adventure with friends in both Bedrock Edition and Java Edition. Let's take a brief look at what the Tricky Trials update brings to Minecraft:

The Trial Chambers and the Mob

Both Minecraft game editions have a new structure called the Trial Chambers. It’s full of “traps, tricks, and treasures”, as per the official website. You’ll meet “hordes of hostile mobs” inside.

Two new hostile mobs: The Breeze and the Bogged.

The Breeze is a mob with a powerful projectile attack while the
Bogged is a poisonous skeleton found in the muddy Overworld swamps.

Rewards from the Vault

The Tricky Trials update adds a new block called simply ‘the Vault’. There is some precious loot hoarded within the Vault, but you need to have a trial key to unlock it. Every player can get one-time rewards from the Vault provided they have the trial key. To get the trial key, you need to defeat all the mobs from the spawner.

The Ominous Trial feature

The Ominous Trial feature is one of the opt-in challenges, along with Village Raids.

Find an Ominous bottle and drink from it. That will trigger the Ominous trial or a Village Raid. You’ll also get the Bad Omen effect as a result of chugging from the Ominous bottle. You can get Ominous bottles from vaults; the bottles are also dropped by raid captains.

In Ominous trials, you’ll have to deal with mobs that are tougher than the usual ones. Keep fighting until the spawner resets and you might get an Ominous Trial key as a reward.

New weapon: Mace

The Tricky Trials Update adds a new weapon: the mace. It’s crafted using a breeze rod and a heavy core (the heavy core is only found in Ominous Vaults).

How to make the mace more powerful?
The Tricky Trials Update gives you three unique enchantments to make the mace more powerful: Density enchantment, Breach enchantment and Wind Charge enchantment.

The Density enchantment increases your damage when dropping down and smashing your enemies.

With the Breach enchantment, your mace can smash through the armour of even the “strongest” hostile mobs.

The Wind Charge enchantment makes you leap high in the air after landing a successful smash attack; it’s useful for chaining attacks more easily.

Other Minecraft updates
The Tricky Trials update adds a new block called Crafter that can craft items automatically. Also, new decorative blocks have arrived.

In addition to 20 new paintings, new armour trims, pottery sherds, and banners have also been added as part of the Tricky Trials update. You can decorate your base (and your armour) with these items.
