Xiaomi has unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro globally, positioning them as its most powerful and thinnest international tablets to date. The new lineup focuses on light productivity, AI-powered system intelligence, and a refined design language under Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
Both tablets feature an 11.2-inch 3.2K display with up to 800 nits brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi says the panels are designed to deliver sharper visuals and smoother interaction whether users are working, editing photos, or streaming content.
Despite an ultra-thin 5.75mm profile and a weight of 485g, the tablets pack a 9,200mAh battery, offering larger capacity than the previous generation while remaining slimmer and lighter.
HyperOS 3 Brings PC-Level Experience
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Series runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which introduces updated lock screens, wallpapers, and desktop elements with subtle animations and customizable widgets.
The software adds enhanced multitasking capabilities including a 5:5 vertical split-screen mode and a new 1:9 horizontal split ratio for flexible window management. Workstation Mode has also been upgraded, allowing more apps to be pinned in the Dock.
A PC-Level Browser experience brings mouse-hover previews, right-click functionality, and an improved toolbar for smoother interaction with web tools. The tablets also integrate WPS Office PC, enabling document creation and editing across WPS Docs, Slides, Sheets, and PDFs.
Xiaomi says Xiaomi HyperAI further enhances cross-device collaboration and workflow continuity within its ecosystem.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro: Flagship Performance
At the top of the lineup, Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform. Xiaomi claims CPU performance has increased by 81 percent and GPU performance by 103 percent compared to the previous generation.
The tablet supports 67W HyperCharge for faster top-ups and features a 50MP rear camera and a 32MP front camera aimed at professional use cases, including video conferencing and high-resolution capture.
Storage options go up to 512GB.
Xiaomi is also offering a Matte Glass version of the Pad 8 Pro with a nano-texture-etched display and anti-reflective coating. The company claims this improves sparkle resistance by 44 percent compared to the previous generation and enhances stylus performance.
The standard Xiaomi Pad 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform. Xiaomi says CPU performance is up 32 percent, while GPU performance improves by 67 percent.
It supports 45W turbo charging and includes a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Storage options go up to 256GB.
Xiaomi positions the Pad 8 as a powerful yet more streamlined alternative for multitasking and everyday productivity.
