Hostilities across the Middle East escalated further after Iran launched new drone attacks, including one aimed at a United States military installation in Iraq, according to regional media reports.

Two unmanned aerial vehicles reportedly targeted the Victoria Base near Baghdad International Airport. Iraqi outlets said one drone landed inside the compound, while the other was intercepted before it could inflict damage. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show heavy smoke billowing from within the base perimeter.

The unrest extended beyond Iraq. In Bahrain, authorities said a maritime facility near Mina Salman port in Manama was struck in what the Interior Ministry described as “Iranian aggression.” Emergency crews were dispatched to contain a blaze at the site, with footage showing firefighters working amid dense smoke.

The renewed strikes follow a large-scale military campaign carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran. Iranian state media reported that the operation killed the country’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, along with other senior figures. Reports indicate that more than 200 people have died in Iran since the outbreak of hostilities.

In retaliation, Iran launched missiles and drones toward Israel, US linked targets and several Gulf nations. The US military confirmed that three American service members were killed, marking the first known US fatalities in the conflict. Israeli rescue officials said at least nine people were killed and others injured when a strike hit a synagogue in Beit Shemesh.

US President Donald Trump said the fighting could last up to four weeks. The United States has designated its campaign Operation Epic Fury. In remarks to The Daily Mail, Trump stated that the operation is proceeding as planned and claimed that American strikes have likely eliminated 48 senior Iranian leaders.

In a separate video address, Trump cautioned that additional casualties may occur before the conflict concludes. He described the offensive as one of the most complex military operations ever undertaken, while also saying he remains open to dialogue with Iranian officials and intends to speak to the nation again soon.
