Marvel Rivals to release this December: Play as a Marvel superhero or villain for free

Marvel Rivals, the upcoming free-to-play superhero team-based PvP shooter, has a confirmed release date and will launch on December 6, 2024. The good news is that you’ll find all the Marvel superheroes (and supervillains) chosen for the game unlocked and free to play on the launch day itself and after. So, don’t stress about how much cash you have to dole out to unlock a certain Marvel character in Marvel Rivals.

The Marvel Rivals release date confirmation came during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Along with the announcement of the release date, the developer of Marvel Rivals also unveiled two new Marvel heroes as part of the superhero roster: Captain America and the Winter Soldier.

The Marvel Rivals superhero and supervillain roster consists of Thor, Loki, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, The Hulk, The Punisher, The Winter Soldier, Namor, Adam Warlock, Hela, Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Mantis, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Storm, Magik, Spider-Man, Venom, Penny Parker, Luna Snow and Jeff The Land Shark. You could choose any Marvel character from the roster and form your team. All of them come unlocked and will stay unlocked.

3. Marvel Rivals: Team up and fight in 6v6 matches

Marvel Rivals offers fast team-based gameplay in the third-person view. The 6v6 PvP game allows for unique synergies between the Marvel characters. For example, when Hulk and Iron Man are in the same team, Hulk can use his Gamma energy to charge Iron Man’s armor for tremendous amounts of damage.

Marvel Rivals will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
