Lava International Limited has entered the gaming smartphone market in India with the launch of the Lava Play Ultra 5G. The device marks the brand’s debut in this category and is aimed at offering gamers a performance-focused handset at a competitive price.

Price and discounts

The Lava Play Ultra 5G is available in two variants. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 14,999, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is listed at Rs 16,499. Both variants are eligible for bank offers of Rs 1,000 on ICICI, SBI, and HDFC cards, bringing the effective prices down to Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,499, respectively. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon starting August 25, 2025.

Features

The Play Ultra 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor built on a 4nm process, with an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 700,000. Lava has included MediaTek HyperEngine optimizations to enhance gaming performance by improving frame rates and power efficiency. Users can also expand storage up to 1TB via a hybrid SIM slot.

The smartphone features a 6.67-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits of peak brightness. Gamers benefit from 10-finger multi-touch support and an oleophobic coating to keep the screen clean during long sessions. It comes with dual stereo speakers and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

On the camera front, the Play Ultra 5G includes a dual rear setup with a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor and a 5MP macro lens. The 13MP front camera supports selfies and video calls, with features such as Night Mode, HDR, Pro Video, and Dual View Video.

The device packs a 5000mAh battery supported by 33W fast charging, which can recharge the phone from 0 to 100 percent in around 83 minutes. Lava claims the battery offers up to 45 hours of talk time and over 10 hours of video playback.

Connectivity options include dual 5G SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C, and OTG support. Out of the box, the phone runs Android 15 with Lava’s promise of two major OS upgrades and three years of security updates. It also comes with a bloatware-free, ad-free interface.
