Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Ranked Play

The Multiplayer Ranked Play experience in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 1 kicks off on November 21. The Ranked Play matches are highly competitive and a lot of times, victory margins are very narrow. Here is a brief overview of the updates to Black Ops 6 Season 1 Ranked Play where you’ll learn how to access the Ranked Play experience and the developers combining the Rank and Skill Division system. We also explain Skill Rating in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6: How to access Ranked Play in Multiplayer?

To unlock the Ranked Play experience in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, the ground rule was that each player needs to win 50 matches in Matchmade Multiplayer game before the start of Season 1. But that does not mean that your wins in Matchmade Multiplayer games after Season 1 has begun won’t be counted. The rule for those late to the party remains the same. Get to the 50-win mark and unlock Ranked Play in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 1.

In Call of Duty Modern Warfare III, players needed to reach Level 55 to access Ranked Play. That requirement has now been removed.

Black Ops 6 Ranked Play: Developers remove Progressive Rank and Victory Stars system

For Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Ranked Play, the developers have prioritised players’ Skill over Rank. Consequently, they have removed the Progressive Rank and Victory Stars system seen earlier “to streamline the experience and focus on skill”.

“In Black Ops 6, your Rank represents what was previously your Skill Division and Tier. Earn SR and progress through 8 Ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson, Iridescent, and Top 250,” said the developers in a blog post

Black Ops 6 Ranked Play: Skill Rating explained

In Black Ops 6 Ranked Play, you earn Skill Rating (SR) when you win a Ranked Play match and lose SR when you lose a Ranked Play match. Maintaining a winning streak is very important in Ranked Play if you are serious about your progress because winning keeps pushing your Rank up and losing just reduces the Skill Ratings you’ve painstakingly earned. It’s like negative marking in an exam. The amount of SR earned “is determined by the player’s distance away from their projected Rank, their match performance, and the margin of victory.
