Apple was earlier expected to introduce new M4 MacBooks, Mac Mini, and iMac at the end of October. However, the event has reportedly been postponed and now the launch is expected to happen in November. According to a report, Apple is now planning to introduce new MacBooks and iPad mini 7 on November 7.
New MacBook Pro and iPad mini 7: What we know so far
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new M4 MacBook Pro series is expected to feature Apple's in-house M4 chip, which will offer up to 1.5 times faster CPU performance compared to its predecessor, M3.
However, the report also includes a surprise entrant in the form of an iPad Mini 7. It will likely feature Apple's A18 chipset, bringing improved performance and new Apple Intelligence-driven capabilities like improved Siri, Genmoji, and Image Playground features. This would mark the first update to Apple's smaller display tablet series since its redesign in 2021.
The report further notes that Apple reportedly has more hardware updates in the pipeline in the first half of 2025. These include M4-powered 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, a new iPhone SE, new iPad Air models, and an upgraded version of the AirTag. We can also expect the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with the M4 chipset to launch in the second half of 2025.
If we talk about this month’s launch, Apple is reportedly aiming to launch a 14-inch MacBook Pro and higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 chipsets.
