Apple is set to launch its upcoming iPhone 16 series of smartphones in September this year. A lot of leaks and rumours regarding the devices have been doing the rounds in the past few weeks. Now, according to well-known leaker and X tipster Ice Universe, the upcoming Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have the thinnest screen bezels ever seen on any smartphone display.

The anticipated bezel reduction follows the trend we have seen from the iPhone 14 series to the iPhone 15 series, where the bezel size decreased significantly from approximately 3.5mm to under 2mm. However, according to this new leak, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to come will have 1.2mm bezels, whereas the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have 1.15mm bezels.

These display advancements are made possible because of Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, which involves bending the wiring and circuitry near the panel edges downwards. Ice Universe has also published four different images, showcasing the difference between the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series and the iPhone 15 series.

However, smartphone enthusiasts who were expecting a full-screen display or the removal of the Dynamic Island from the iPhone 16 series will be disappointed as the leaked images show that the Dynamic Island pebble notch is still present.

In addition to the slimmer bezels, the iPhone 16 Pro series is anticipated to feature slightly larger displays. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to get a 6.3 inches display, whereas the iPhone 16 Pro Max is likely to get a 6.9 inches display.

Do keep in mind that these are rumours and leaks, so must be taken with a pinch of salt.
