Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert as a replacement for Jacob Bethell, who will depart after their final league game against Sunrisers Hyderabad to join the England team. Seifert joins RCB for ₹2 crore, having scored 1,540 runs in 66 T20Is. A new IPL rule now allows temporary substitutes, though they can't be retained before the next auction. The 2025 IPL was rescheduled due to India-Pakistan tensions, prompting overseas withdrawals. RCB, currently second on the table, aim for a Top 2 finish. The final league match was shifted from Bengaluru to Lucknow due to weather concerns.
