The Indian Premier League (IPL) is back and so are the antics of the league's most successful bowler Yuzvendra Chahal. The spinner after spending two years with the Rajasthan Royals franchise will now be seen delivering his services to Punjab Kings in the upcoming edition, which starts from March 22. Chahal was acquired by Punjab for Rs 18 crore at the mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last November.

With Chahal's arrival the fun has already begun in the Punjab camp. A video of the spinner is doing rounds on social media, where Chahal can be seen poking fun at Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan, trying to imitate the latter's viral line, “Yes, it is a two”.

Continuing with his lighthearted banter, Chahal was also seen teasing teammate Shashank Singh asking the latter “Darr gaya kya (Are you afraid)?” Here is the video:

Chahal was last seen in Indian colours back in August 2023. Despite impressive show in the IPL 2024 season, which saw him claim 18 wickets from 15 matches. Chahal was also part of India's T20 World Cup winning squad last year but the spinner didn’t get a single match in the tournament.

Switching focus to the domestic circuit, Chahal didn't take part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, the premier 50-over tournament. However, he produced a strong show in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which saw him scalp 10 wickets at a strike rate of 15.00.

Chahal is the leading wicket-taker in IPL and has 205 scalps from 160 matches. The upcoming edition of the lucrative T20 league presents the spinner with a golden chance to reaffirm his credentials and get back in the national side.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings will begin their IPL 2025 campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 25. Shreyas Iyer, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to title victory in the previous season, will be seen leading the Kings. He was roped in by the franchise for Rs 26.75 crore.
