The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team won the Women's World Cup for the first time ever, making it a historic event for Indian cricket. In the final match at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, India defeated South Africa by 52 runs. India's campaign was chaotic as they overcame three consecutive losses in the league stage to secure the historic victory.

When the celebrations settled Jemimah Rodrigues, who played a major role in India's triumph, posted a photo of herself and teammate Smriti Mandhana with the World Cup trophy in their hotel room after the win. "Good morning world" read the caption.

Meanwhile, India captain Harmanpreet, who took the decisive catch that sealed India’s world title, also shared a photo of her with the trophy. The frame showed Harmanpreet rested with the trophy beside in bed and the caption read: “Some dreams are shared by a billion people. That’s why cricket is everyone’s game. #CricketIsEveryonesGame.”

But what was more interesting was the message printed on the Puma tee, the Indian skipper wore. The popular phrase of cricket being referred to as a "gentleman's game" was given a twist.

Harmanpreet, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh - who were part of the World Cup winning team - are all brand ambassadors of the global sports brand.

Earlier, after the Women in Blue won their first ICC trophy, Mandhana broke down in tears as she talked about her team's journey and the World Cup title victory. Mandhana scored 45 and shared a 104-run opening stand with Shafali Verma before her dismissal, setting the tone for India’s innings.

Shafali’s fluent 87 and a composed knock from Deepti Sharma powered the team to a formidable 298. Later, Deepti shone with the ball as well, claiming a sensational 5-wicket haul for 39 to bowl South Africa out for 246. The all-round effort sealed India’s triumph and made them only the fourth nation to win the Women’s ODI World Cup.
