Alyssa Healy may not have had the best day on the field with the bat but made an instant impact when it was Australia's turn to field in the ICC Women's World semifinal against India at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday. The Australian captain produced a wicket out of nowhere, also leaving Smriti Mandhana, India's vice-captain, in disbelief.
The moment occurred in the final over of the powerplay bowled by Kim Garth. It all started with Mandhana hitting the pacer for a four, driving the full delivery angling in from round the wicket past cover. While Garth had no answer to the shot, the elegance behind it certainly oozed confidence.

The next ball then was sent down the leg and Healy was quick enough to collect it, following which she went for an appeal but it was far from convincing. The bowler too was not sure of an edge and the on-field umpire was happy to continue. However, with three seconds left for DRS, Healy decided to go for a review and UltraEdge reflected a faint spike just when the ball was passing close to the bat.
The moment left Mandhana shell shocked as she was adjudged caught-behind for run-a-ball 24, which featured a couple of boundaries and a maximum. The reaction by other Indian players watching from the sidelines was also similar as Australia celebrated the wicket.
Mandhana kept shaking her head on her way to the dressing room, refusing to come in terms with the spike in UltraEdge.

India chasing 339 didn't get to the best of start as Shafali Verma, who was playing her first match in the tournament, was dismissed for 10(5). Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues kept the scoreboard moving at a good pace before Healy struck with her brilliant game awareness.
Harmanpreet Kaur has joined the chase as India keep a check on the required run-rate.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to field, Healy was dropped on 1 by Harmanpreet but couldn't do much despite being handed a lifeline. She was castled for 5(15) by Kranti Gaud.
