Rishabh Pant's booming SIXES turns government quarters in England into 'Indian mohallas' - Watch

Rishabh Pant’s explosive batting form is good news for India. Just not for the rooftops of Beckenham.

Rishabh Pant seems to be a man on a mission in England as his booming sixes are not clearing boundary ropes, but crashing into rooftops, balconies, and front yards of nearby government quarters in Beckenham. As Team India intensifies preparations for the five-match Test series against England starting June 20, Pant appears to be in destructive form during training sessions at the Kent County Ground. But the neighbouring residential blocks, occupied by Kent government officials, might not be too thrilled about it.

Over the past three days, locals and onlookers have witnessed cricket balls flying over the side nets and landing into domestic spaces — with at least three or four balls reportedly retrieved from rooftops and balconies in a single session. In fact, in one such instance, a portion of a rooftop even sustained minor damage after a ball thudded into it.

“This is the kind of tale you usually hear in Indian mohallas — kids breaking windows with tennis-ball sixes,” a nearby resident remarked. “Only difference is, this time it’s not kids. It’s Rishabh Pant.”

With his now-famous batting arc swinging with full effect, Pant has made the side nets look too small to contain his intent. The balls aren’t just traveling far — they’re finding some rather unfortunate resting places. In one case, a cricket ball was spotted dangling from a balcony shade like a forgotten Christmas ornament.

Local protocol meant that the support staff couldn’t casually step into the premises to retrieve the balls. Special permission had to be taken, and in one instance, a turbaned team official (fondly referred to as "Sardarji" by witnesses) dutifully sought access before stepping into the quarters.

While the residents have so far remained behind closed doors — perhaps unaware of the cricketing chaos unfolding just outside — the Indian team management might soon need to consider a Plan B for Pant’s side-net practice.

With a new Test captain in Shubman Gill and the series promising to be a high-octane affair, Pant’s explosive batting form is good news for India. Just not for the rooftops of Beckenham.
