Vaibhav Suryavanshi, youngest player to make IPL debut, sets social media ablaze with fiery start

Vaibhav Suryavanshi didn't waste any time to leave an impact in his much-anticipated IPL debut. The 14-year-old on Saturday became the youngest player to debut in the IPL debut, making his maiden appearance in the clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Vaibhav was introduced as an impact substitute, coming in for pacer Sandeep Sharma, and was put to test as Rajasthan started a challenging 181-run chase. Opening the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal, the 14-year-old had to wait for three deliveries before facing his first ball in the IPL, which was bowled by Shardul Thaur.

The youngster showed no nervousness and swung his bat at a length delivery, while standing on the leg stump, which saw the ball travel over the covers for a six. Vaibhav couldn't have asked for a much better start than this as everyone, including LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, was left in awe with the arrival.

Vaibhav continued his aggressive approach and hammered Avesh Khan for a six in the next over, this time sending the ball over the bowler's head towards long-on. He and Jaiswal gave Rajasthan the start they would have hoped for as the pair accumulated 61 at the end of powerplay.

The impact of Vaibhav's innings created quite a buzz on social media. Here are a few reactions:

The pair went to add 85 runs for the first wicket in 8.4 overs before Aiden Markram combined with Rishabh Pant to stump Vaibhav on 34(20), an innings laced with two boundaries and three maximums.
