PBKS vs MI, Qualifier 2 injury update: After beating Gujarat Titans in a win-or-bust match, Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians will be raring to repeat the show against Punjab Kings, whom they meet in Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winner of the high-stakes battle will set a date with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the season finale, which will also be played at the same venue on Tuesday. Considering the magnitude, both teams wouldn't want to risk naming a player in the XI, who's not 100 percent ready in terms of fitness. And if we look at the squads, some high profile and crucial names are dealing with some injury or the other. In this article, we look at names featuring on the injury list and the update on their recovery.

PBKS vs MI: Punjab Kings batters vs Trent Boult-Jasprit Bumrah - battle that will potentially decide fate of Qualifier 2

Yuzvendra Chahal (Punjab Kings)

The big name missing from Punjab is spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is dealing with an injury on his right wrist and last played on May 18. However, as reported by ESPNCricinfo, the spinner was seen wearing a protection on his wrist while training. He played football engaged in routine fielding drills and also rolled his arms for a couple of overs at an empty net. All these signs indicate that he is likely to make a return in the high-voltage encounter.

Deepak Chahar (Mumbai Indians)

The absence of Deepak Chahar can be felt in the MI camp as the coaches and medical staff arrived at the venue on Saturday evening after landing in the city at 4 am. The same report mentioned that it was an unscheduled visit, which was to inspect the pitch and check on Chahar, who is dealing with an injury on his left leg.

The report mentioned that Chahar had padding both under and above his left knee. He started the session with sideways movements with a resistance band around his legs. He then switched to jogging with breaks in between, which was followed by short sprints. Chahar walked off fine post the session but chances of him playing appear slim.

Richard Gleeson (Mumbai Indians)

Richard Gleeson had walked off the field unable to complete the final over in the Eliminator against Titans. Before starting the over Gleeson felt some discomfort on his right leg and was attended by the physio. The pacer, however, went ahead and bowled three excellent deliveries before signalling the umpire he wants to leave as Ashwani Kumar completed the over.

He didn't arrive with the MI members for the unscheduled visit but instead Reece Topley was present. If both Gleeson and Chahar fail to gain fitness on time Topley could be seen combining with the lethal duo of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah on Sunday.
