Rajasthan Royals have won the match against Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets as they successfully chased the target of 197 runs. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel crafted the win for their team after initial loss of three wickets in the innings.
Rajasthan Royals started their innings well as they were chasing a target of 197 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings and completed 50 runs partnership in 5 overs. However, both these openers, Buttler (34) and Jaiswal (24) got out in successive overs after this. Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson tried to consolidate the innings but Amit Mishra got the wicket of Parag (11) runs in ninth over. Royals brought up their 100 in 11.4 overs. Jurel-Samson completed 50-run partnership in 31 balls to take RR to 135/3 after 14 overs. Samson and Jurel brought up their 50 on successive deliveries in the 18th over. Samson remained unbeaten 71 on with Jurel not out at 52 as Rajasthan Royals won the match by 7 wickets.
Super Giants in first innings
Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants have scored 196/5 in the first innings with contribution of 76 runs from skipper KL Rahul. Rajasthan Royals need to chase 197 runs to win the match.
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and invited Lucknow Super Giants to bat first. LSG started off their innings losing two early wickets Quinton De Kock (8) and Marcus Stoinis (0) in two overs. KL Rahul and Hooda consolidate the innings and score 94 at the loss of two wickets in 10 overs. KL Rahul completed his 50 in 31 balls. Super Giants brought up their 100 in the eleventh over and looked to set a fighting total for Royals to chase. 100-run partnership between Rahul and Hooda in 56 balls for LSG. Hooda completed his 50 in 30 balls but got out on the next delivery. KL Rahul and Pooran steered LSG to 150/3 after 15 overs as Pooran got out at 11 runs, Sandeep Sharma took the wicket. KL Rahul got out at 76 as Avesh Khan gets the wicket.
KL Rahul-Deepak Hooda 100-run partnership
KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda brought up 100-run partnership between them in just 56 balls. The partnership for third wicket came at a time when Super Giants were struggling after losing two quick wickets of De Kock and Stoinis in the first two overs. Hooda got out on 50 runs as Ashwin gave the breakthrough to Royals in 13th over. KL Rahul continued to bat afterwards till he got out on 76 from 48 balls.
