The ambidextrous Kamindu Mendis dismissed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday. On the third ball of the tenth over, Mendis bowled a lengthier, faster delivery.
Jadeja attempted to move it leg side while playing on his backfoot, but the ball went in between and uprooted his middle stump, as he ended up playing all around it.

Kamindu Mendis had also stunned fans in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 3. The match showcased the Sri Lankan's ability to bowl with both arms.
Half-centurion Angkrish Raghuvanshi of KKR was dismissed by Mendis in his only over and became the first ambidextrous bowler to pick up a wicket in the history of the tournament.
Despite being the ambidextrous bowler's first IPL match, Mendis has been a reliable player for Sri Lanka. He has participated in 19 ODIs, 23 T20Is, and 12 Test matches.
At last year’s IPL mega auction, the all-rounder from Sri Lanka was purchased for Rs 75 lakhs. He wed his longtime girlfriend, Nishni, prior to the IPL season, but canceled their honeymoon so that he could go to India for the competition.
