Shubman Gill's tremendous form continues
The batting show was led Shubman Gill as he scored an attractive century as the hosts completed a dominant performance ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. He reached his century in just 95 balls, elegantly flicking a leg-sided delivery from Mark Wood to the mid-wicket boundary. As the ball raced away, he removed his helmet and bowed in acknowledgment of the crowd’s applause. His innings finished with a strike-rate of 109.80 with 14 fours and 3 sixes.

Virat Kohli scores much needed fifty
India ticked all the remaining boxes as Virat Kohli scored a much needed fifty for his confidence ahead of the ICC event. He scored 52 off 55 deliveries with 7 fours and a maximum. Kohli wished he could have performed better in Ahmedabad, but Adil Rashid once again got the better of him. After being deceived by the England leg-spinner, Kohli acknowledged the brilliance of the delivery with an appreciative gesture.

India bowlers shine
England got off to a brilliant start with Ben Duckett and Phil Salt at the crease, but their scoring momentum dipped once Arshdeep Singh removed both openers. Kuldeep Yadav then struck to dismiss the dangerous Tom Banton, while Axar Patel sent the experienced Joe Root back, strengthening India’s grip on the match. Harshit Rana joined the action, taking out Jos Buttler before clean-bowling Harry Brook, and Washington Sundar’s clever bowling accounted for Liam Livingstone.
Hardik Pandya chipped in by dismissing Adil Rashid and later added Mark Wood to his tally. Axar Patel finished things off by removing Gus Atkinson, sealing a commanding 142-run victory for India and securing a 3-0 series clean sweep over the visitors.
