IND vs SA: Star India batter Virat Kohli lit up the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi with his 52nd ODI century. Only active in the 50-over format in international cricket now, the veteran batter showed no signs of slowing down. He completed his century in 102 deliveries with well-placed shot past third man.

The celebration from the dugout and batter himself showed how much the knock meant for him.

Kohli has six ODI tons against South Africa now. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner who both have 5 against the Proteas, respectively.

Most individual hundreds in a single format

Kohli took over Sachin Tendulkar for most hundreds in a single format with his 52nd ton. Tendulkar held the record with 51 hundreds in Test cricket.

Coming back to the innings, the​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ 37-year-old came in the fourth over and with Rohit Sharma, combined for a 136-run second wicket partnership. Kohli reached his fifty in 48 balls – his 76th ODI half-century.

His last ODI century at home came in Mumbai in the 2023 World Cup when India played New Zealand. Apart from that, he latest was against Pakistan during the Champions Trophy this year in February.
