The implementation of a no-entry rule for heavy vehicles in Prayagraj due to the Mahakumbh Mela has led to a severe food and fuel shortage in the city. Essential commodities like flour, pulses, and sugar are running out, while over 50 petrol pumps have gone dry due to halted fuel supply.
With wholesalers running out of stocks, finding flour, semolina, and refined wheat products has become increasingly difficult. The price of essential items like pulses and sugar has also surged due to supply constraints. Mustard oil and refined oil stocks are also depleting quickly.
