The UK has imposed sanctions on Iran for its role in supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine, as the world marks 1,000 days since Russia's invasion. British Foreign Secretary David Lammy reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to Ukraine, emphasizing that defending Ukraine is vital for upholding global sovereignty and UN principles. Meanwhile, U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield announced that the Biden administration will continue to arm Ukraine, with more support expected soon. She also called on China to halt its support of Russia's war effort. In response, China’s Ambassador Geng Shuang criticized the U.S. for prolonging the conflict and advancing its own geopolitical agenda. Additionally, President Biden authorized the use of longer-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMs) for Ukraine, allowing strikes deeper into Russia. This move follows Russia’s deployment of North Korean troops along Ukraine's northern border. Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia warned of the potential for significant escalation in Europe.
