Zomato replied that they had spoken to the customer, who had found the lizard in the biryani.

A customer in Hyderabad was left shocked after he found a lizard in the chicken biryani that was ordered on Zomato, an India Today report said. The customer, identified as Vishwa Aditya from Amberpet area of Hyderabad, had placed the order online from "Bawarchi" restaurant in the city and was shocked to find the reptile in his food.

The incident, shared on the X (formerly Twitter) platform "Telugu Scribes", shows the family expressing worry after the restaurant gave them an unconvincing reply as to why more care was not taken while preparing the biryani.

Zomato replied to the post, saying that they had spoken to the customer and were working on the next steps. "We have identified the issue and spoken to the customer. We take this very seriously and are working on appropriate next steps," the delivery platform's "Zomato Care" handle wrote on Sunday.

This is not the first instance in recent times when a customer has faced inconvenience after ordering biryani on Zomato.

Another customer found a dead cockroach in the fish biryani that he had ordered on the online delivery platform from Grand Hotel restaurant in the Koti area of Hyderabad. The customer shared the incident on Reddit and gave a zero out of 10 rating for the restaurant.
