Watch: US vlogger visits Bengaluru airport's Terminal 2: 'Most beautiful airport I've been to'

Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 has added one more admirer to its long list of admirers. After being named ‘World’s Most Beautiful Airports’ by UNESCO and earning praise from a Silicon Valley CEO, among a plethora of others, a vlogger from the US couldn’t help but fall in love with it as well.

“I can’t believe I am inside an airport. I feel like I’m in Singapore or Dubai here,” Karl Rock said while touring the visually-pleasing airport with its creative design interspersed with trees and plants.

“Is this the world’s most beautiful airport? This is the new Bengaluru Terminal 2 in India’s state of Karnataka. The Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru Terminal 2, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), represents a cutting-edge addition to Bengaluru’s aviation infrastructure,” Rock wrote in the caption of the post.

Praising the airport's innovative architecture and aesthetic interiors, Rock wrote, "The terminal’s design seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetic appeal, featuring spacious interiors flooded with natural light and efficient passenger flow systems. Boasting state-of-the-art technology and sustainable features, Terminal 2 enhances the airport experience for travellers while minimising environmental impact."

Kempegowda International Airport's Terminal 2 is spread across an area of 255,000 square metres. Imagined as a "terminal in a garden", it has several trees and various plants hanging from the ceiling.

Alexis Rivas, architect and co-founder of Los Angeles-based home design startup Cover, called it the most unique airport he had ever visited. "The new terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru is stunning at night and the most unique airport I’ve been to. I’d love to see more creativity and boldness like this in airport designs. It’s a great way to make a strong first impression," Rivas tweeted in December last year.
