Virat Kohli had a special gift for Glenn Maxwell after Australia beat India in the Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The duo have a special bond as they play for the same IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The former Indian skipper presented his signed jersey to the Australian all-rounder after the World Cup final. ICC shared a glimpse of the duo’s heartwarming moment on X. In the pictures, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell were seen hugging each other after the exchange. “Respect and admiration," ICC captioned it.

The gesture also touched hearts of fans, especially those of RCB.
"RCB fans can understand this pain better," wrote an X user, while another added, "Great to see the spirit. Well played Virat Kohli throughout Cricket World Cup 2023. Records made, records broken. Couldn’t have asked for more, although would have been happier to win the Cup."
Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell's wife Vini Raman slammed trolls for posting "hateful" and "vile" comments after Australia's victory over India. She pointed out that fans can support the country of their birth without insulting anyone. "Aaaaand cue all the hateful vile DMs. stay classy... can't believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you have been raised and more importantly the team your husband+father of your child plays in #nobrainer. take a chill pill and direct that outrage towards more important world issues," Vini Raman wrote on Instagram.
