US ambassador to India recalls meeting Shah Rukh Khan: 'Everybody in my office went nuts'

The United States ambassador to India Eric Garcetti met Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan during one of his visits to the country in May last year and after meeting the superstar, Garcetti informed his work colleagues about meeting the 58-year-old and admitted that they went bonkers on hearing he had met Khan in India.

"I think when I visited Shah Rukh Khan my first couple of weeks here, And we talked cricket because, of course, he's involved as a cricket owner. He owns part of the Los Angeles team. Everybody in my office went nuts," Garcetti told ANI.

"They're like, oh, my God, did you know who you met? I said, yeah, Shahrukh Khan. But I didn't realize the level of love that there was across the country," he added.

Garcetti had met Khan at his Mumbai residence in May last year and revealed that he discussed the cultural impact of Hollywood and Bollywood worldwide.

In October, Garcetti travelled in the Delhi metro and went pandal-hopping in the national capital during Durga Puja celebrations in the city.
