NJAC Challenge: Government's Submissions

A 5 judge bench of the Supreme Court is currently hearing arguments for and against the constitutional validity of the National Judicial Appointment Commission case. The Government’s counsel, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has spent the last week arguing against the Collegium system and in favour of NJAC, averring that it does not compromise the independence of the judiciary.
