Radhika Apte is currently fuming – and with good reason too. The actor was among dozens of passengers who were locked inside an aerobridge and left to fend for themselves by an airline.
Apte, 38, shared details of the incident in an Instagram post she wrote while she is still locked inside the aerobridge. Without naming the airline or the airport, she said that she had an 8.30 am flight that was delayed without providing a clear reason.
At around 10 am, the airline told passengers that boarding would begin and asked everyone to assemble on the bridge which connects the airport to the plane. The staff then locked the aerobridge, leaving passengers inside with no water or access to washrooms.
The post was shared at 10.50 am this morning, by which time the passengers had been locked in the aerobridge for over an hour.
According to Apte, “passengers with small babies and elderly people” were among those locked inside the aerobridge. The airline staff she slammed as absolutely clueless and unwilling to share information.
The airline staff refuses to open the doors, she wrote in her Instagram post. “Apparently their crew hasn’t boarded. The crew had the change and they are still waiting for new crew but they have no idea of when they will arrive so no one knows how long they’ll be locked inside,” she said.
Apte criticised the crew for their cluelessness and opacity. “I managed to escaped briefly to speak to the very stupid staff woman outside who kept saying there is no issue and no delay,” she wrote, adding that staff just informed everyone that they would be locked in the aerobridge till at least 12 noon. “No water no loo. Thanks for the fun ride!” she concluded.
