Pro-Kannada activists visited the office of Sugandh Sharma, a Bengaluru woman who claimed that the city would become empty if North Indians left in a viral reel, to file a complaint against her. Sharma, who is also a digital creator with about 17,000 followers, had moved to the city three years ago in search of fame, money, and a life partner, she claimed in one of her videos.
Rupesh Rajanna, a pro-Kannada activist based in Bengaluru, said in a post on X that he and other activists visited Sharma's workplace on Monday, demanding strict action against her.
"We have been visiting Sugandha Sharma's office over the last two days to seek information about her and talked to the officials there," Rajanna wrote in a "victory for Kannadigas" post. He also said that a complaint has been filed against her at the Koramangala police station on behalf of Yukave Youth Group. "Action must be taken against her," Rajanna added.

Sugandh Sharma drew widespread flak from social media users after one of her reels on Bengaluru posted three days ago went viral.
"You guys keep saying: 'you northies go back,' if we all really leave Bengaluru, your city would become empty," she said in the reel. "First, your PGs (paying guest accommodations) would become vacant, you won't get the money you are earning now, all the clubs in Koramangla would become empty. All the pretty girls you see dancing to Punjabi music in these clubs won't be seen anymore. You guys should think before you talk. In case your wish does come true, Bengaluru would lose all its glamour."
Reacting to the video, enraged Instagram users asked Sharma to leave the city and stop spreading hate.
