Even as India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire following a missile attack in Pakistan, which saw the Indian forces target 10 Pakistani airbases early Saturday, visuals of the attack shared by Pakistani nationals continue to get widely circulated on social media. Among them, some include satellite images confirming significant damage to infrastructure and ground assets, and others include videos of the missiles hitting the air bases.

Notably, India's attack on Pakistan's Nur Khan airbase in Chaklala may have marked the turning point in the tit-for-tat escalation between the two countries. The strategic airforce base is located just 10km from Pakistan's capital Islamabad, and serves as a highly sensitive military compound. It is also located close to the headquarters of Pakistan’s Strategic Plans Division, which oversees and secures the country’s nuclear arsenal—now estimated to comprise 170 or more warheads.

Footage from social media shows the exact moment when Indian missile attack the Nur Khan base, causing a massive explosion. Some satellite images circulating on social media also show the heat signature and damage caused to the base.

Pakistan Air Force Base Shahbaz in Jacobabad was also targetted in the recent attacks. Videos from the area show the air base and the ATC engulfed in smoke.

Moneycontrol could not independently verify the authenticity of these videos or images.

A report by the Indian Express said that India chose to attack the Nur Khan base and others to target Pakistan military's technical infrastructure, command and control centres, radar sites and weapon storage areas.

Satellite images show that Pakistan’s Bholari Airbase also suffered significant damage due to the strikes. Damien Symon, a prominent OSINT analyst who operates the widely followed account detresfa_ on X, corroborated the findings, noting, “Imagery released by Kawa Space spotlights damage at Pakistan’s Bholari Airbase – the Indian Air Force strike appears to have severely damaged a hangar, debris visible along with structural damage. Runway proximity suggests a quick reaction role for the hangar.”
