Ghazal Alagh said that Mamaearth would look to create lakhs of jobs in the next decade and would take Indian beauty to the world and place the Bharat flag everywhere.

Mamaearth co-founder Ghazal Alagh said on Wednesday that the company would look to create lakhs of jobs in the next decade and would take Indian "beauty to the world and place the Bharat flag everywhere."

Replying to Prime Minister's Narendra Modi's words of appreciation for her husband Varun Alagh on X (formerly Twitter), she wrote that his words had further ignited their passion and made them more determined to succeed.

"Thank you @narendramodiji. Aapke aashirvaad aur Modi sarkaar ke support ke sath lakhon jobs create karenge agle 10 saal mein. (With your blessing and the government's support, we can create lakhs of jobs in the next 10 years)."

"This truly fuels our passion and makes us even more determined to succeed. We will take Indian beauty to the world and place the Bharat flag everywhere," she wrote.

On Wednesday, PM Modi had reacted to a video, shared by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, in which Varun Alagh could be heard saying that Mamaearth may not have been in the position to create the number of jobs that they had created without the ecosystem offered by the central government.

"Today we employ more than 10,000 people. It couldn't have been possible but for the ecosystem provided by the Modi government," he said in the video.

PM Modi said that existing government encouraged startups and wealth creation and urged Alagh to keep up the good work.

A Bloomberg report, published in April, said that Mamaearth's parent company, Honasa Consumer Ltd, was taking on global giants in the world’s fastest-growing beauty market with onion hair oil and curd-and-turmeric face masks.
